In the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" (directed by
Audrey Wells, 2003), which is based on the Frances Mayes' 1996 memoir... the
main character Frances (Diane Lane) narrates that there is an Italian idiom,
“dare la luce” for "to give birth" as in birthing a
baby, however the literal translation is to “Give to the Light”...
with correction of "dare alla luce". I loved the Italian sound and
the thought of this, so for the
ShiAbbey group I was then setting up, this one... I used it.
Thanks to Ruth Adkins and her friend Simone, for their help in clarifying this for me. Sister Maggie The following links make up the fourteenth group of Chapel pages on this website. We use Green on our pages to honor Mother Earth and Red to honor Life . |
