Our More Common Beliefs

Please understand that not every one of us believes all of these.  We are very diverse but I wanted to give my visitors some idea of where this site is coming from and that the following stands of opinion, are quite commonly held by the majority of Sisters I work with --

We believe in a woman's rights of self determination -- of her religion, her sexuality, her body.  These are her own and within her own right of jurisdiction, only excepting those practices commonly accepted by society as harmful to her such as alcoholism and/or substance abuse.

We believe in non-violent social change and the use of diplomacy.

We believe "war" has no legitimate credentials in the modern world; except when all else has failed; and lives are threatened; and there is a consensus of world leaders.

But we also support our military personnel 100%, since they go where they are told to with courage, patriotism and selflessness.

We believe that study for the  love of study, is a pure joy and no other has the right to try and take that joy from us.

We believe that apathy is the worse of all human threats to a freedom-loving society.

Blessings!  Sister Margaretta Nicodemus
