Qa'desh Chapel - #0006 // Sister Megera Qadesh
The Battle of Qa'desh occurred between Egyptian and Hittite military forces during the obviously named, Egyptian-Hittite Wars. Muwatalli II led the Hittites; Ramesses II led the Egyptians; location was on the Orontes River of current Syria near Qa'desh (Kadesh); and historically dated to c.1274 BCE. Various sources give credit that this single engagement was likely the largest chariot-battle ever fought, because of the 5,000-plus chariots involved with 9000-plus solders on foot. Expert claims lean toward the Hittite winning the tactical victory, but the battle actually being a strategic draw. The above is common drawing rendition commonly found about the web and in history books of the wondrous relief's carved in stone on the entrance pylons, of the Temple of Luxor, in Egypt.
